History

Discover how it all began.

Our journey began in 2025 when I opened Bristol Wild Sauna with Jack Willis, transforming disused land into a welcoming space for the local community.

As sauna enthusiasts who knew the many physical and mental health benefits firsthand, we had a shared vision: make sauna and cold plunge experiences more accessible and affordable for everyone. This meant opening our first sauna in the heart of an urban space.

Creating our inner city escape came with huge challenges, starting with finding a suitable spot.

Persuading someone to let us build a community sauna and plunge area on their land was hard - we kept being met with blank looks. But finally we were offered a space infront of Filwood House, a warehouse occupied by independent artists and business owners.

I'm thrilled to open our second site in Derby, the city I grew up in. This time we are opening next to Derby Rugby Football Club, against the lush backdrop of Darley Abbey.

Sauna culture in the UK is only in its infancy - I can’t wait to see where it goes. We hope you enjoy our saunas as much as we do.
